Uber Doubles Office Size after Move to New HQ

Controversial cab-hailing firm Uber has doubled the size of its office space after it moved its London headquarters out of King’s Cross and into a 40,000 square feet high-end facility in Aldgate Tower.

It’s the latest move that suggests the growth of the company behind the now world famous smartphone app shows no signs of slowing down. Chief Executive Travis Kalanick has already signalled his intentions to grow Uber as a business in Europe even further over the next 12 months, stating earlier this year that the service could go on to create 50,000 new jobs across the continent.

Uber has also recently expanded its services to further locations in the UK, with the arrival of Uber drivers in Sheffield, Bristol, Slough, Maidenhead and Windsor in recent days. It has also began to advertise for job openings in cities such as Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Liverpool which suggests that further growth of the business is imminent.

Uber has been the subject of much controversy since its services first became popular, with London mayoral hopeful George Galloway recently revealing his plans to ‘run Uber out of London’ in an effort to protect the iconic London black cabs.
